Typewriter – old school writing instrument

Here are a couple shots from a quick still life I did this afternoon. I love old typewriters and found one to setup a few shots with. Thanks to my neighbor for letting me borrow it for a bit. It is fun to think back when we actually used these to write. I realize that this is dating me when I write this, but hey, I gotta a long way to go yet . If you remember using carbon paper and whiteout then you know what it is like. Hard to believe I once wrote a 100 page report with one of these (but much newer). The Underwood brand was one of the standard brands back then. If you have memories of typing with one of these wonderful machines then leave me a comment. Long live spell-check and MS Word and computers hehe.

Can you imagine if we still had to use on of these beasts? Hard to imagine that so many books and tomes were written and then typeset to create all the volumes libraries that we have. Maybe we have lost something along the way too. I know I use to think through what I wanted to say a lot more when it took so long to type it and type it correctly.
