In this case, the product is equipment that is heavy, expensive, and moving it to a studio location is not a real option. Plus they really want images that look professional like they were shot in a controlled studio environment. 2013 - Looking to be a good year! 2013 - Looking to be a good year! Yes, it is! I can't share everything yet and it will take part of the year to bring part of the picture into view, but I have several things going on that should make this a milestone year. For one I have a business deal happening that I'll probably be able to share more as the year progresses. It will mean that I will be much more focused on product work and later in the year very well equipped for the same. Bombay Sapphire Gin on a rainy afternoon... Bombay Sapphire Gin on a rainy afternoon... Every now and then I get inspired by colors of products and decide to do a still life shoot to bring out the color I like. I have always liked the color of the Bombay Sapphire Gin bottle and today I realized that I had some extra time to play around.   Doesn't hurt that it is my favorite gin for making martinis now either ☺ Here is the final shot. A bit cliche, but what the heck ☺ So... now with that done.... time for a martini

Day sail with Sailing Fearless in the SF Bay Day sail with Sailing Fearless in the SF Bay. Stephan Sowash runs his sailboat charter out of the Presidio Yacht Club harbor located at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge. The best part is being able to be right in the bay in five minute from leaving the berth. Stephen is a great boatman and great host. I had the opportunity to experience a great day on the Bay with a great group from the San Francisco Opera and the creative group for Wagner's Lohengrin opera that is playing there now. Izzy all wrapped up in looking at fabric at Hart's Fabrics in Santa Cruz Izzy all wrapped up in looking at fabric at Hart's Fabrics in Santa Cruz My good friend Hiram Chee asked me to help with a fabric store shoot at Hart's Fabrics in Santa Cruz. He was doing a trade with the store and a few models and got free access to the whole store after hours. Actually, he wanted me to shoot with him and another photographer, but I told him he would certainly need an assistant for what he wanted to accomplish. Sure enough, I was more than busy enough just setting up lights and helping coordinate things....

Romantic by Jeanne Arthes - Paris I decided to get creative again today and shoot Romantic by Jeanne Arthes - Paris. This was the other bottle I had borrowed from MK Fine Perfumes, but had not gotten around to shooting. Like the Sanderling perfume, the theme was again the opera, but this time with a vignette signifying a stage and curtain. This perfume is part of the Yves de Sistelle collection and is imported by MK Fine Perfumes, located in the Stoneridge mall in Pleasanton, CA. Stop by and tell Marina that I sent you! How often have we felt this way? ☺ Thanks to my good friend and fellow photographer Nick Giron http://nickgironphoto.net/ for being my model ☺ The trick was how to have my studio floor look wet with paint and also know it would work when Nick had time to stop by. Since my floor is a nice laminate wood floor I obviously did not want to actually paint the floor. The red paint I got was very very red and hard to get out of anything ☺ The bush will be red the rest of it's life now...
