Winter’s changing shadows and light – Corning, CA

Now that we are in the shortest days of daylight it is amazing how easily we can miss the special characteristics of light that only occur this time of year. When the sun is so much lower in the sky and the air in the morning is cold and filled with moisture the light is very different. While enjoying the Christmas holiday season at my relative’s property in Corning we were getting ready to leave in the morning and I was waiting for stuff to load into the car. I was suddenly drawn to the light and shadows created by the beautiful live oak trees and the green grass and blue sky.

This is why I love photography. Capturing what I feel and “seeing” the beauty that we could often miss and never enjoy. Take time today to look around and capture some of the season’s beauty in your mind.
